10 Week Medicine Making Intensive
January - March 2020
When I first started learning about herbal medicine I found that hands-on learning face to face was the way to go! Making medicine and learning to relate plants through tastes, small, and touch are hugely important to becoming proficient in and being comfortable with using herbs. If you never taste the difference between a cold infusion and a hot infusion of the same herb how will you really understand what constituents taste like and how they extract best?#youcantlearnthatonline This is the reason that I will always emphasize hands-on learning with our 10 Week Medicine Making Course. If you are interested check out the course schedule, guest teachers, and videos below!
In this in-depth, hands-on intensive, we will cover the basics and particulars of medicine making:
miels (honey extracts),
acetracts (or herbal vinegar),
salves & oils,
essential oils, etc.
At the beginning of the course you will receive a kit containing 11 herbs for you to get to know and in each class you will learn about one herb in an in-depth way as to expand your-plant prowess.
In each class we will be tasting, harvesting, plant id-ing, making native local preparations and deepening our connection to the world around us through herbal knowledge that flows through the seasons! By the end of this intensive, my goal is to have you wild harvesting and medicine making in your own home like a professional kitchen herbalist!
