Kecia Elrod

Garden Manager

Kecia inherited her green thump from her parents and grandparents who owned a 350 acre farm in the small community of Wayside, just outside of Winfield Al. The garden is her happy and healing place. She retired due to her autoimmune diseases, Lupus, Sjigren’s and Raynaud’s. Through the use of herbs, homegrown vegetables, whole food supplements and chiropractic care her conditions have tremendously improved over the past few years. Kecia is so excited about helping others heal through growing many of our plants for natural medicines.

Kecia moved to Montevallo from Hoover in September. She has two children, Kaila, who has lived in Montevallo for 8 years and Brandon, who is a student at UAB. Kecia worked for Deer Valley Elementary for 9 years and at Bumpus Middle for 3 years as a teacher for children with special needs. She was also involved in ministry at Lakeside Baptist Church for preschoolers through youth for over 16 years.
